With its origins in martial arts, this Brazilian art evolved into a spectacular dance form featuring acrobatics interspersed with fluid and rhythmic movements danced to the samba beat of the berimbau, atabaque, and pandeiro. It is also said that break dancing evolved from this dance form.

What will I learn?

The basic moves of the Ginga, as well as the rhythms which dominate this dance form. You'll also be introduced to basic acrobatics and the chance to join in a rueda (circle) to sing, play the instruments, and have a go with your new-found capoeira skills!

Is it open to men and women with all these acrobatics around?

Yes, both men and women are welcome as it is a challenge to the individual regardless of your gender.

What should I wear?
A :
Comfortable attire preferably track bottoms and t shirts. No skirts, ladies. And no shoes required.
